INTRODUCTION HOLLAND SENSOR INNOVATIONS has developed an innovative technology for the accurate measurement of viscosity for multiple applications. The technique used in the ViscoProbe, sets us apart from other viscometer manufacturers. This new measurement principle is based on an improvement of the well-known and experienced vibrating rod at resonance frequency. Through this new principle, it is now possible to measure accurate viscosity, density and temperature without frequent calibration or maintenance. PATENTED TECHNOLOGY HOLLAND SENSOR INNOVATIONS uses a unique patented technology for the sensor which has already been proven for more than 30 years for the measurement of viscosity in various industries, fluids and viscosities. In this way, we can ensure that every ViscoProbe we sell is the most accurate and reliable in the world. The design is made by the best developers and designers in the world, who earned their credits with several international design awards and patents. RELIABILITY & ACCURACY The ViscoProbe can measure the actual dynamic and kinematic viscosity in the range of 0-25 or 0-50 cSt or any other range on request. The ViscoProbe has been designed to deliver maximal precision. Because the rod displacement is high and fully digitally controlled, vibrations have no effect whatsoever. The ViscoProbe has the highest absolute maximum ratings in its field. WORKING PRINCIPLE The measuring principle of the ViscoProbe is based on an oscillating rod inside the flow of the fluid. The shear tension of the fluid will damp the amplitude of the rod. The magnitude of the damping is a direct function to viscosity. The rod is fully controlled by a 100Mhz micro-controller that results in 300 viscosity, density and temperature measurements per second. INSTALLATION AND OPERATION The ViscoProbe is especially designed to make operation and installation very Easy. The system has no moving parts or sensitive piezo with limited lifetime. The sensor is calibrated off-factory and never needs to be re- calibrated. STANDARD DESIGN The digital viscosity & density measurement system is designed for full flow, in-line installation in heavy fuel oil and other industrial applications. The electronics is placed in an ultra-robust die-cast enclosure, withstanding the harshest environments in marine applications. The sensor comprises an oscillating rod, connected to the electronic enclosure by a 4m cable. The housing has standard flanges for installation.
